Allergy Friendly Apple Crisp – Gluten, Dairy, Soy, Corn, Grain, Egg Free

Apple Crisp. A New England past time. One of the greatest desserts no matter what the season. Warm local cinnamon apples, delicious crust, with melting vanilla ice cream – the perfect flavor combination. When I was diagnosed with Celiac disease I never thought I would be able to eat these foods again. After learning so much about anti-inflammatory diets and food, I obtained a great ability to be creative in the kitchen. Allergy friendly apple crisp is real. It’s delicious. It’s easy. I would put this recipe up against any gluten filled apple crisp recipe with 100% confidence that mine is superior. This recipe is free of all gluten, dairy, soy, corn, grains and eggs. Celiac friendly. Paleo friendly. Whole30 friendly. And the best part – easy. I highly suggest Anna and Sarah Shelled Pecans as they are delicious, healthy, and high quality.

Allergy friendly apple crisp

Ingredients:

The most delicious desserts sometimes require the least amount of ingredients. I’ve highlighted the ones I recommend.

Instructions:

First we will want to prepare the “crust”. To do so, simply put 1 lb of pecans in food processor or blender. Add two tablespoons of cinnamon and let her rip. It should only take about 30 seconds to blends the entire pound. When there are no more large chunks of pecans, you know you’re good!

Second, apples! Apples should be cut into chunk sized pieces. Leave the skin on. Put apples in stove top pan. Cover in about half an inch of almond milk, a fair helping of cinnamon, and 4 fluid ounces of maple syrup. Turn on medium heat and cover the pan. Caution: this will make your house smell delicious. 

Stir apples occasionally until soft. From there, drain the rest of the almond milk and place nice warm cinnamon apples at the bottom of a glass baking dish. Size can vary. Distribute apples along the bottom of the pan evenly and cover in pecan crust. Even distribution will assure even cooking. Drizzle top of crust in maple syrup.

Place apple crisp in preheated 400 degree oven for 10-12 minutes (until you see the crust starting to brown up). Take it out, and enjoy!

This is a beautiful, easy dessert that is great for holidays, weekends, or just a special treat. The presentation is beautiful.
